We are doing great intaiative but on department levels but it has to be collective to bring the big picture

Sustainability reporting is kind a mandatory now, to illustrate the corporate directions toward stakeholders interms of ESG framework- what I see good now is that we can see different initiatives , emissions progress, actually we can learn alot from each other from these reports so it’s promoting positive competitive spirit !

B) 1- consumption of green energy which have a good impact on the weather of the planet and decreasing the pollution in many aspects in egypt,
2- initiatives for cleaning the nile,
3- support the technical learning, based on a collaboration with elsewedy, this benefits a large segment of the Egyptian citizen.

Question A :
Reporting CO2 emissions, it’s not sure that indicators are correspondingly to the needed especially that this is the 1st time to make such report .
Need to learn more and to feel as a company the importance of such report.

B) Best 3 CSR Activities
1. Orange Digital Schools
which is about to make digital inclusion in the education sector in Egypt, Now we have transformed 57 school from a normal school to a digital schools using digital kits for teachers and students, serving more than 2000 student annually
we are planing to increase the no of schools to reach 100 by 2024
2.Women Digital Centers
16 Women digital centers currently opperating in upper Egypt, seving more than 5000 women each year, by empowering them economical using digital tools and solutions
3. Serving Community
Orange provided 30 villages all over Egypt with daily Iftar during Ramadan, continued the tradition of distributing food boxes to the families in rural areas & Empowering them with fully equipped kiosks to start their own business through “Bab Rezk Initiative”

Currently there are 3 main KPI’s related to environment with clear targets for 2025 :
Each metric can be broken into smaller measurements to track the progress as an annual milestone
Consolidating all projects and results in one report showing the results on KPI’s
Reports to be on regular basis to act as a guide for development

Current best practices in sustainability reporting?
With the growing awareness on ESG and Sustainability especially in the corporate world and with governments and organisations tweaking and introducing policies, processes and regulations, reporting is growing to become more of a necessity than luxury. It is no longer a trend or annual achievement document rather a tool for investors in assessing a corporation’s value in terms of sustainability.
Some of the reports being used today are: Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
GRI Reporting seems to be most common in Egypt being promoted and trained by the leading company in this field, DCarbon.
Yet, at Orange Egypt, we are inclined toward CDP and TCFD.
What’s missing to be included in the future.
Aside from sustainability reports, companies also invest in certifications like ISO and corporate advertising, which projects an impression of brand positioning and maybe in some cases greenwashing, boasting more on achievements.
I still haven’t worked on a sustainability report end to end yet I would say what should be considered in future is alignment and collaboration internally and externally to ensure that reports produced, at the very minimum, with main suppliers/partners, will be consistent. So, every time I open up a report from any of the companies, the data and message will always be consistent.

Best practices in sustainability reporting:
1- Orange Egypt has some defined KPI’s that are being quarterly reported and benchmarked with other Orange affiliates
2- Orange Egypt has some campaigns over newsflashes to massively communicate about sustainability to all employees
3- Orange Egypt created a centralized team to collect all sustainability-related activities to be compiled in one global report
Currently Orange Egypt reporting is missing the clear link with SDGs.
Also, OEG needs to be more active on the web either by uploading complete reports or even by speaking about successful initiatives here or there and name our partners and probably includes some testimonial evidence from stakeholders.

Orange Egypt have contributed in many CSR initiatives I believe it help the community and the individuals, like cleansing the Nile river, rural village renovation…etc
But I what actually I believe should be done to help crafts people and encourage them to for a startup projects
